Langland, Swansea: Pedestrian, 93, hurt in collision

A 93-year-old man has been treated in hospital after he was injured in a collision with a car driven by a man of 84, say South Wales Police.

The pedestrian was hurt outside Newton Grange residential home in Langland, Swansea.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident involving a green Volvo S40, at about 23:35 BST on Thursday in Groves Avenue.

The 93-year-old man was treated at the city's Morriston Hospital.

Police said the road was quiet at the time and they want to speak to any witnesses to the collision, anyone who stopped to provide help, or who may have seen the injured man or the car beforehand.

The incident resulted in the road being closed for a time while investigations began and as the vehicle was recovered, and police thanked anyone affected for their "patience and understanding".
