A Swansea man previously jailed for manslaughter and firearms offences is wanted by police after breaching the terms of his release.

James Stevenson, 34, from Townhill, was jailed in 2002 for the manslaughter of his mother's partner, and again in 2009 for possessing a shotgun.

He escaped from a Swansea court as he was sentenced in 2009 and was given an additional two years in jail.

South Wales Police advised people not to approach him.

Stevenson is wanted for recall to prison.

Acting Ch Insp Jason Davies said: "Despite extensive enquires over the last few days we have not located Stevenson.

"I would urge anyone with information as to his whereabouts to come forward as a matter of urgency.

"Members of the public are advised not approach him but report any information immediately."

Anyone with information is asked to contact South Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
