The family of an agricultural college student killed in a two-car crash in Carmarthenshire say they are "devastated at losing him".

Joshua Mark Day, 18, died when the Renault Clio he was in collided with another car on the A485 north of Alltwalis on Wednesday morning.

He was a student at Coleg Sir Gar's Gelli Aur campus, near Llandeilo.

His family said: "Joshua was a much loved son, grandson, brother, nephew and godfather to his brother."

It continued: "We are all devastated at losing him."

The statement said Mr Day began his education in Ysgol Y Castell, Kidwelly, before moving on to Rhydygors School, Carmarthen, "where he flourished".

It added: "He was a typical 18-year-old who enjoyed spending time with his friends.

"Joshua will be missed by all his family, who would like to thank everyone, especially his friends, who have offered their support and said kind words about Joshua.

"We would also like to thank the doctor and nurse who tended to Joshua at the accident as they worked hard to save him.

"We are glad that the other people in the accident are alright and our thoughts are also with them and their families."

Two of his fellow students were also in the Clio car.

They are being treated at Morriston Hospital in Swansea after suffering serious injuries.
