Carmarthen assaults: Three arrests after six injured

Three people have been arrested after six people were injured in two assaults in Carmarthen.

Armed police cordoned off Water Street in the town on Monday following the assaults on Sunday.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of affray, wounding with intent, possessing a class A drug, and an offensive weapon in a public place.

An 18-year-old man and girl, 17, have been arrested on suspicion of affray.

Dyfed Powys Police said one man needed hospital treatment following the incidents in Lammas Street and Cambrian Place at about 23:35 BST . He is in a stable condition.

Det Insp Wayne Bevan appealed for witnesses and said the force was treating the assaults as "linked".

He added officers were "not looking for anyone else" and thanked the public for their "patience" while armed police were in the town.
