Six held in dissident republican investigation

Six people have been arrested by Irish police investigating dissident republican activity in counties Dublin and Wicklow.

Guns, ammunition and bomb components were found in follow-up searches and four vehicles were seized.

Police arrested five men in their 20s after stopping two vehicles. They are being questioned about membership of an unlawful organisation

A woman in her late 20s is also being questioned about the same offence.

The five men are currently being held at various police stations in the greater Dublin area.

The woman is being held at Ballymun Garda Station in Dublin.

Police said investigations were continuing and there would be further searches.
