Women and children escape Drogheda gun attack

Two women and five children have escaped injury in a gun attack in Drogheda, County Louth.

A number of shots were fired at a house at Knockbrack Close in the town at about 21:15 BST on Thursday.

The children in the house were aged from seven months to six years old.

A car police believe was used by the attackers - a grey Kia c'eed - was found on fire a short distance away in at Platin, County Meath.

Police have appealed for anyone who was in the area of Knockbrack Close or adjoining roads between 21:00 BST and 21:30 BST to contact them.
