County Louth: Teenager held at gunpoint by masked men
A teenager who had arranged to meet a man about selling his car was taken at gunpoint to a disused farmhouse and held for a number of hours, police in the Republic of Ireland have said.
The 18-year-old had been due to meet the man at Newtownstalaban, County Louth, at about 23:30 BST on Sunday.
When he arrived, he was confronted by two masked men, one of whom had a gun.
They took him to the farmhouse and then, later, took him to his home.
There, they assaulted members of his family and searched the house. Some property was taken and the men left in the owner's car that was found burnt out later.
Police have appealed for information.
