Jonny Cooper stabbing: Man released without charge

A man arrested over an attack on a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) footballer in Dublin has been released without charge.

Jonny Cooper was stabbed in Upper Dorset Street at about 05:30 BST on Saturday 20 September.

The 24-year-old footballer plays at county level for Dublin and at club level for Na Fianna in Glasnevin.

He was treated in hospital for injuries which were not life threatening.

Gardaí said a file would be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
