Murder investigation launched after fatal shooting at Empress Place, north Dublin

A murder investigation has been launched after the fatal shooting of a man in Dublin.

The attack happened shortly before midnight on Sunday, at Empress Place in the north of the city.

He was shot in the upper body and face at the rear of Killarney Court. Detectives are trying to establish a motive for the killing.

A man in his 30s and a woman have been arrested.

The man is being questioned over the robbery of a taxi driver, the woman is being held on suspicion of withholding information.

Police have appealed to anyone with information about the attack to contact them.
