Fionn Braidwood charged with murdering his mother
A man accused of murdering his 65-year-old mother has appeared in court in the Republic of Ireland.
Jane Braidwood died on Tuesday after she was stabbed at her house at Clarinda Park East, Dún Laoghaire, County Dublin.
Her 30-year-old son, Fionn Braidwood, was brought before Dún Laoghaire District Court, charged with murder.
The judge ordered that he be given a psychiatric assessment to determine his fitness to stand trial.
Mr Braidwood did not speak during the brief hearing.
He was remanded in custody to appear again at Cloverhill District Court on 29 January.
