Dublin Port: 10m cigarettes seized by customs officers

A concealed shipment of more than 10m cigarettes has been seized by customs officers at Dublin Port in the Republic of Ireland.

The cigarettes, with a retail value of more than 4.7m euros (£3.42m), were described as "paper handkerchiefs" on the manifest.

RTÉ reports that they were hidden in a 40ft container that had arrived into the port from Belgium.

They were found during routine profiling by officers.
