Guernsey Police target underage drinking

Underage drinking is one of the Guernsey Police's main concerns ahead of the school summer holidays.

Sgt Amanda Randall, from the neighbourhood policing team, said there were concerns over underage drinking and anti-social behaviour.

Parents have been asked to make sure they know where their children are and what they are doing.

She said there were plenty of activities going on to keep youngsters out of trouble.

Sgt Randall said: "There's so many other things youths can be doing on the island, a lot of stuff is free... the sports commission has events organised and the youth service has lots of events planned.

"When the weather is nice we've got beautiful coastlines here and there are a lot of activities that don't cost money and don't impact on your health the way that alcohol does."
