Condor Ferries gives apology for delays
The company that operates ferries between the Channel Islands and the UK and France has issued an apology for delays caused by technical issues.
Condor Ferries said it had experienced an exceptional number of problems with its three high speed ferries during its busiest time of year.
Simon Edsall, managing director, said: "I would like to apologise to customers who have been affected.
"We are grateful for the patience and consideration many have shown."
He said: "All three of our ferries have experienced problems in recent weeks and although we have moved fast to fix these, it has been necessary to make some changes to the schedule to minimise the disruption."
The problems first started in July when an engine bearing failed on Condor Express vessel.
Engineering tests onboard the Condor Vitesse highlighted a problem with the pistons in one of her four engines in early August, a fault which came to light shortly before the Condor Rapide experienced a problem with one of her four engines.
Condor Ferries said those customers affected by these delays were being contacted individually by phone and text message.
