Explosive material is destroyed in Guernsey

Guernsey Police destroyed a quantity of old explosive material at Fort Le Marchant on Tuesday.
A spokesman said an old mortar bomb had been found, which needed to be made safe immediately.
It was detonated with some old hand grenades and war time demolition charges that had been in storage.
Officers apologised for any inconvenience caused and said the noise was louder than normal due to an onshore wind.
