Guernsey Airport warns of further travel delays

Snow at Guernsey Airport Guernsey Airport was closed for six hours on Sunday

Travellers into and out of Guernsey Airport have been warned further delays cannot be ruled out due to problems caused by snow in parts of the UK.

The airport was open until 2300 GMT on Sunday after it was closed for six hours during the day.

However, airport director Colin Le Ray said it would take time to clear the backlog of passengers.

He said the knock on effect of snow in the UK would take several days to "flow through the systems".

Mr Le Ray said: "A provisional estimate suggested we had about 800 passengers disrupted in some way [on Sunday]."
