Guernsey-born animal trainer in swine flu death

A 26-year-old woman originally from Guernsey has died after getting swine flu.

Caroline Lois Benoist, who was living in England and working as an animal trainer, died over the Christmas weekend, her family confirmed.

Tributes have been paid on the social networking website Facebook by friends in Guernsey.

Thirty-nine people in the UK died with flu-like illnesses this winter by the end of 2010, the UK government said.
