Guernsey Fire and Rescue Service tribunal date set

A date has been set for an industrial tribunal to resolve a pay dispute between the Guernsey Fire and Rescue Service and the States.

Its aim is to resolve the deadlock between Unite the Union and the Public Sector Remuneration Committee.

The tribunal will consider the wages paid for a 12-month period from July 2010.

It will take place on the 17-18 March at Les Cotils, in St Peter Port.

Guernsey's Bailiff has appointed Professor Roy Lewis, an arbitrator for the UK Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service, as its chairman.

The other lay members appointed by the Bailiff are Alan Dorey from the Employers Panel and Martyn Priaulx from the Employees Panel.
