Guernsey residents warned not to eat L'Ancresse berries

Guernsey residents have been warned not to eat berries, fruits or plants picked at L'Ancresse Common in the Vale.

Work to tackle the larvae of the brown tail moth began on Thursday, with their silk "tents" being targeted.

A chemical spraying programme has begun to prevent them from maturing, after emerging from their winter hibernation.

The caterpillars' hairs can also cause serious skin irritation.
