Public to get Guernsey planning meeting say

Members of the public will be able to speak at Guernsey planning meetings, the Environment Department has said.

The move comes after some people said they were unhappy at not being allowed to speak at the first public meeting.

People were able to observe the decision-making process over a four-storey development in St Peter Port last week but could not contribute.

The department said it was hoping to introduce public speaking within a year and the issue was a priority.
