Six people have been rescued from a drifting fishing boat by Alderney's lifeboat.

Roy Barker I launched at 1236 BST after the 15m (50ft) fishing boat Ebonnie reported engine failure 10 miles (16km) north-north-west of the island.

The lifeboat was alongside the Dartmouth-registered super crabber, which fishes the waters regularly, within 40 minutes.

Ebonnie was taken in tow and secured in Braye Harbour by 1600 BST.
