Guernsey is to play host to a special preview of a new television comedy.

Islanders Chris Bran and Justin Chubb both wrote and star in the series This is Jinsy, loosely based on life in the Channel Islands.

The pair will present the preview with director Matt Lipsey, who is best known for Bafta award-winning shows Little Britain, Psychoville and Saxondale.

The screening, with tickets costing £5, is due to take place on 12 June as part of the Guernsey Festival of Comedy.

'Threepenny mice-binding'

Festival co-organiser Nick Creed said: "Justin and Chris came over for last year's festival when they presented the original This is Jinsy pilot episode.

"A lot has happened since then and we are thrilled that the first series is now nearing completion and will soon be ready to air.

"This will be a real treat for local comedy fans."

He said after their introduction the evening would involve a 30-minute screening and a question-and-answer session with the three guests.

The show is billed as "an eccentric comedy about the bizarre residents of the fictional island of Jinsy".

Bran had a Jinsy-style message for fans: "Justin and I beckon you with a big woollen finger to this exclusive screening.

"Expect an evening of people-weaving, threepenny mice-binding, high tension carpet-boxing and possibly a beer."
