Alderney presidential role attracts three nominees
Three nominations have been received for the Alderney president by-election.
Paul Arditti, Bill Simpson and Stuart Trought have been proposed for the post made vacant by the retirement of Sir Norman Browse.
Sir Norman has been President of the States of Alderney since 2002, but announced in May he would be retiring after June's States meeting.
The successful candidate will complete the remainder of the current term of office, which ends in December 2012.
The president, who serves a four-year term, chairs the monthly meetings of the 10 elected States members and has a casting vote in the event of a tied vote.
The by-election is due to take place on Saturday, 11 June in the members' room of the Island Hall.
