Guernsey man jailed for intent to supply cannabis

A Guernsey man has been sentenced to 30 months in prison by the island's Royal Court after admitting intent to supply cannabis resin.

Kevin Welch, 30, an island resident pleaded guilty to possessing nearly 300g of the Class B drug with intent to supply to another.

He was arrested in January on suspicion of importing controlled drugs and admitted possessing the drugs.

The drugs had a potential local resale value of between £5,800 and £7,300.
