A man who died in an explosion in a Guernsey mansion has been named.

Robert Blakemore, 46, died in the blast in Avenue Morely on Friday while two other people, thought to be his parents, were rescued.

Police said explosive materials found in the house had been made safe and officers were investigating how they came to be there.

British Army bomb disposal experts have travelled to the island to help police identify the explosive used.

A post-mortem examination is also due to be held later.

Detectives have said there is no link to terrorism.
