Guernsey Occupation Museum plans archive
Guernsey's Occupation Museum plans to create new archive facilities after concern over damaged documents.
Museum owner Richard Heaume says thousands of historical documents are being lost or damaged because of the lack of suitable storage space.
He said he wants to create a new humidity-controlled area to coincide with the planned replacement of the roof.
It will be home to about 15,000 documents including newspapers.
Mr Heaume said they receive lots of inquiries from around the world and a central archive would make it easier to respond to those as well as protecting important documents from damage.
