Four in hospital after Guernsey house fire

Four people have been taken to hospital after a house fire in Guernsey.

The fire broke out on the Pont Vaillant estate, in the Vale, shortly before 18:30 BST on Sunday.

Five people were treated for the effects of smoke before four of them - an adult and three children - were taken to hospital for further checks.

They were later discharged, the ambulance service said. The cause of the fire is unknown but it is believed to have started in the lounge.
