Search for man overboard off Alderney coast

The Channel Islands Airsearch has helped French authorities look for a man lost overboard about seven miles north of Alderney.

A French helicopter and lifeboat are continuing the search for the man, along with the Alderney Lifeboat.

The air search plane returned to Guernsey after patrolling the area for three-and-a-half hours.

Search director Jason Hobbs said the aircraft had "searched an area of about 60 square miles".

He said conditions were good and visibility was excellent.
