A man and a two-year-old boy injured after being hit by a car on Guernsey's Albert Pier have been named by police.

Mark Campbell, 30, suffered severe leg injuries and is being treated in hospital in Guernsey and is in a stable condition.

Aiden Mroch, two, was flown to Southampton Hospital in the UK on Sunday for further treatment.

Ambulances, police and the fire service were called to the scene at about 19:30 BST on Saturday.

Mr Campbell was due to be transferred to the UK on Sunday, but that was delayed and he remains at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital in Guernsey.

There have been no arrests but police are appealing for witnesses.
