Guernsey chief minister election date set

A special meeting of the States of Guernsey will be held to elect a new chief minister.

Deputy Peter Harwood resigned on Tuesday due to rising media interest in his former role as a director of the Channel Islands Stock Exchange.

Guernsey's bailiff announced the election would take place on 12 March.

Nominations open at 09:00 GMT on Thursday and close at 17:00 on 6 March.
