Neil Hastie found guilty of historic rape charges

A former taxi driver has been found guilty of raping two girls in Guernsey during the 1970s and early 1980s.

Neil Hastie, 65, was convicted of three counts of rape and three of indecent assault against the women, who were aged 11 and 13 at the time.

Jurats at Guernsey's Royal Court were unanimous in their guilty verdicts.

Following the reading of the verdicts, Hastie was remanded in custody and is due to reappear in court for sentencing on 1 August.
