An elderly man has died after a crash involving a car and a lorry on Guernsey's west coast.

A police spokesman said they were investigating the collision, which occurred at 13:10 GMT and involved a small flat-bed lorry and a Honda Jazz.

He said the man's next of kin had been informed, but formal identification had not yet taken place.

The coast road was closed while the emergency services dealt with the crash and reopened at about 16:30.

Officers have asked drivers, motorcyclists and cyclists to take extra care "due to the traces of oils and fluids on the road".
