New Isle of Man GP surgery moves step closer
Work on a new GP surgery in Jurby is due to get under way in November, the Manx Department of Health has said.
The department has issued a request for tenders to build the surgery. It hopes it will open in October 2011.
The building will also have space for community activities, including those currently provided at Earroo Nane.
"I am delighted this long-awaited improvement to GP services in the north and west of the island is finally ready to go ahead," David Anderson MHK said.
The health minister added: "It will not only relieve pressure on the GP practices in Peel and Ramsey, but provide more local and convenient access to primary health care services.
"In addition this project will offer better facilities for the many charitable and government organisations with which we work in partnership within the north and west of the island."
