Girls saved from inflatable boat off Isle of Man

Three teenage girls had to be pulled from the sea off the Isle of Man after getting into difficulties using an inflatable boat.

The Isle of Man Coastguard were called to Douglas Bay early on Monday evening.

It had received several 999 calls from members of the public reporting the girls were shouting for help.

The coastguard boat plucked the girls from the water and took them to Victoria Pier. They were not hurt in the incident.

A spokesman for the coastguard said it appeared the inflatable boat sank, throwing the girls into the water. The falling tide was dragging them away from the shore.
