Pedestrian suffers foot injury in Douglas hit-and-run

A woman was taken to hospital after a hit-and-run in the Isle of Man's capital, Douglas.

Manx Police said the victim was trying to cross Woodbourne Road on Saturday evening when a blue Renault Clio drove over her foot.

The woman was not seriously injured but was taken to Noble's Hospital for treatment.

Police are looking for the the motorist, who had been travelling from the St Ninians direction.

Pc Jamie Watterson, of the Douglas Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "This could have potentially been a very serious collision, but thankfully the female has come away with only minor injuries.

"At the time of the collision there would have been lots of traffic and pedestrians in the area and I would strongly urge anyone with information to please come forward."
