Lorry driver cut free after crash in Isle of Man

A lorry driver was cut from the wreckage of his vehicle after a four-vehicle collision in the Isle of Man.

Two heavy goods vehicles, a car and a van collided on the main road between Douglas and Castletown on Friday.

The man was trapped in his cab and had to be freed by firefighters before being taken to hospital for treatment.

The crash at Knock Froy Corner, opposite the junction with the Ballacutchal Road, closed the road to Castletown from 1400 GMT to 1700 GMT.

None of the other drivers reported any injuries, the fire service said.
