Man charged with fleeing Isle of Man prison

A man has appeared in court on the Isle of Man accused of absconding from custody.
The 22-year-old is alleged to have run away while being escorted by prison officers to an appointment in Douglas on Friday afternoon.
Police said a man was arrested in the Pulrose area later.
The accused man has appeared before the High Bailiff charged with escaping from lawful custody, criminal damage and possessing an offensive weapon.
He was remanded in custody on Saturday.
