Isle of Man preparing for return of snow and ice

The Isle of Man's Department for Infrastructure (DfI) has said it is bracing itself for a return of sub-zero temperatures, snow and ice.

The wintry conditions are due to return to the island in the early hours of Friday, following a period of rainfall.

Alan Hardinge, spokesman for the DfI, said staff were preparing to treat the roads after the rain to try to stop ice forming and the snow settling.

Several island roads had to be closed during last month's snowfall.

They included Mountain Road, Tholt Y Will Road, Druidale Road and East Baldwin.
