Police in the Isle of Man are advising people not to travel unless it is essential, after a day of disruption due to snow and ice.

Heavy snow overnight led to dangerous conditions on island roads, with several having to be closed. All buses were cancelled on Friday afternoon.

The airport had to cancel five flights due to snow on the runway. Others arrivals and departures were delayed.

Several centimetres of snow is expected overnight, the Met Office said.
