Holiday warning to Isle of Man school vandals

Youngsters in the Isle of Man are being warned any acts of vandalism at the island's schools will be reported to the police.

The Department of Education issued the warning ahead of the school holidays, which get under way on Saturday.

It follows vandalism at Murray's Road School in Douglas, Ashley Hill in Onchan, and Castle Rushen High School.

"Our policy is that all matters of vandalism are reported to the police", said John Gill, from the department.

"The police know that our standing instruction to them is wherever possible, if they can identify them - the culprit - then they should pay for the damage."
