A commuter steam train service which will run on the Isle of Man for the duration of the TT festival has begun.

The department of transport service has been brought in to encourage commuters to avoid traffic congestion in Douglas.

Passengers will arrive in Douglas from Port Erin at 0845 BST and the return journey leaves Douglas at 1745 BST.

Valid resident tickets, island explorer tickets and bus saver tickets are all accepted on the steam trains during the racing fortnight.

Tickets are also available on the day of travel for the same price as a bus journey.
