Candidates stand for post of Tynwald President
Two candidates have put themselves forward for the position of Tynwald President, as Noel Cringle steps down.
Noel Cringle, who was first elected a Member of the House of Keys in 1974, recently confirmed his intentions to stand down after 11 years.
Speaker of the House of Keys, Steve Rodan and Chief Minister, Tony Brown have both put themselves forward.
The President of Tynwald is responsible for order and conduct of business in Tynwald and the Legislative Council.
Prior to 1990 the Lieutenant Governor held the office of President of Tynwald.
The new president will be voted in by Tynwald members at the July sitting on 12 July.
