Isle of Man Monopoly board game to be released

An Isle of Man edition of the board game Monopoly is set for release at the end of October.

The makers of the game said that after extensive feedback from island residents, the final version was finalised and was now in production.

Details of which Manx place names have been featured will not be revealed until the game hits the shops.

The idea behind the Manx version came from company, Winning Moves, who made the game under licence from Hasbro.

Licensing director Mark Hauser said: "We would like to formally thank the great Isle of Man public for all its wonderful input- without these suggestions and nominations this board could not have been produced".

There are now countless local versions of Monopoly which originated in the US in the 1920s.
