Sport Relief 2012: Get involved on the Isle of Man

Organisers of the Isle of Man Sport Relief Mile are urging people to get involved in the event on Sunday 25 March.

The event is open to all age groups and abilities and participants can choose to runone, three or six miles.

The money raised will be spent helping some of the most vulnerable people in the UK and across the world's poorest countries.

This year's event will start on Douglas Promenade at 12:30 BST.

Organisers said it is a "important community event."

Douglas town centre manager Gill Anderson said: "We're aiming to make it a fun fitness-focused day out for all the family.

A number of fitness-themed attractions will be held alongside the run to encourage healthier living.

This year more than one million people are expected to take part in Sport Relief Miles all across the British Isles.

Sport Relief starts on 23 March with Sport Relief on BBC One and more coverage on BBC radio, online and TV throughout the weekend.

You too can go the extra mile by choosing to take on either one, three, or six miles and entering online.
