Memorial for Ramsey Bay disaster

A plaque has been unveiled in Ramsey, Isle of Man, to commemorate six men who died in the Ramsey Bay disaster.

The men were all crew on the Fleetwood trawler, Fleetwood Lady, which had anchored in Ramsey Bay on 7 March 1956 so three of the men could visit their families.

All six lost their lives when their rowing boat capsized as they returned to the trawler.

Eric Lyall and his son Eric James Lyall died, along with Allan Bradford, Reginald Wright, Albert (Abby) Cottier and Arnold Brew.
