Firefighters have reclaimed a crashed car that was hanging off a Manx road.

The car came off the road around 07:50 BST on Bay View Road, Port St Mary, teetering 50ft (15m) above a house.

Its driver had cleared the car before firefighters arrived. Crews secured it with wagon straps before winching the vehicle to safety.

Station Officer Carl Kinvig said: "The vehicle was extremely close to going over the edge, and ending up in the house below.

"It was a lucky escape for all involved."
