Isle of Man unemployment falls in August

The rate of unemployment in the Isle of Man has fallen to below a thousand, according to official government figures for the month of August.

The number of people out of work fell by 25 to 992 during the month - an overall unemployment rate of 2.2%.

Official treasury figures also show a fall in the island's inflation rate for the same month.

August figures, as measured by the Retail Prices Index, stood at 2.1%, the lowest since December 2009.
