Isle of Man ferry sailings cancelled due to gales

Strong winds have resulted in the cancellation of ferry sailings between the Isle of Man and Lancashire.

The scheduled 08:00 GMT journey from Douglas to Heysham on the Ben-My-Chree vessel has not sailed, nor has the 14:00 return journey.

The Steam Packet Company said planned sailings from the island to Birkenhead, Merseyside on Sunday are expected to go ahead as scheduled.

The firm advised all passengers due to travel to contact the company.
