Motorist admits causing cyclist death by careless driving

A motorist has pleaded guilty to careless driving which caused the death of a 41-year-old cyclist in the Isle of Man.

Linda Thompson, 63, from Sulby admitted at Douglas courthouse that her driving led to the death of Kathryn Burge.

Mrs Thompson has been bailed and will be sentenced on 31 March.

Ms Burge, 41, from Lonan, died following a collision with a Range Rover on Main Road, Kirk Michael, on 4 August.

The physiotherapist, born in Stafford, died from chest and spinal injuries at the scene.
