Three people have been arrested on suspicion of assaulting police in two separate incidents on the Isle of Man.

Police went to Union Mills at 01:35 BST on Saturday and arrested a man and a woman, who also allegedly made off without paying and resisted arrest.

They have been bailed, pending further inquiries, a police spokesman said.

A man was also held following a domestic incident in Douglas at 21:00 and will face charges of affray and assaulting a police officer later.

Isle of Man Constabulary would not provide details of any injuries to officers, but said one was not "on parade" as a result of the incidents.
