Residents and visitors in Jersey have been warned about delays and traffic diversions on Thursday because of the Battle of Flowers.

Floats will be moved down to the main arena in Victoria Avenue, St Helier, from about 0500 BST.

The States of Jersey Honorary Police said drivers should expect delays between 0600 and 0900 BST on Trinity Hill and Beaumont Hill.

Victoria Avenue will be closed from 0930 BST.

The Grand Day Parade will begin at 1430 BST and the Moonlight Parade will take place on Friday at 2100 BST.

The event regularly attracts about 30,000 people each year. It was first held in 1902 as a celebration for the coronation of Edward VII.
